Economic Liberty
I recently read a post regarding the choice between evil capitalism and evil socialism. It points out the Obama attempt at striking a balance between the two much like the European style socialist democracies. One of the commentatorsrs even points out Denmark’s socialist style government and how economically free they still are. This is all nice and fuzzy; however, you have to realize the Denmark is below the United States in economic freedom. I’m not sure why we would want to move down the list towards Denmark even though we are so close anyways.
This doesn’t change things anyways. Stealing is stealing. Just because a great trade capital can tax it’s trade and therefore support it’s poor citizenry (Muslims) and keep them from rioting (although not murdering). Doesn’t mean the U.S. can do this. If we tried to tax China trade like Denmark taxes trade we’d start World War III.
Although we might just start WWIII by how much we’re going to devalue the dollar and wreck the global economy.
Taking away freedom for short term gains is not the answer. What ever happened to give me liberty or give me death. Instead we’ve changed to give me a flat screen TV and a good movie or give me Viagra to pass the time.
