Orwellian Conspiracies – In Light of the Rightwing Extremist Memo

April 16, 2009
by The Freedom Thinker

So far Obama and Neopolitano have been pretty silent on this right wing extremist memo except maybe to say Bush initiated it (like that makes it ok?). If Bush initiated it then that is Obama’s and Neopolitano’s out to rip this thing up and put it behind them.

But that won’t happen. (Most likely because Obama agrees the sentiments are right wing extreme)

CNN has silenced the tea parties. Obama came out and said he is a tax cutter (what a liar). A tax cutter is a person that cuts taxes not that raises taxes on those that pay and gives them (in the form of rebates) to non-taxpayers. They have the major banks in their pockets. They own the vast majority of universities. We’re partially owned by foreigners already. This is a battle for minds and with government controlled schools we are loosing this fight. I’ve seen very little from the main stream press on this report.

I agree with what TennessePaul from AmericanMissive.com said in my post on this subject - ”Orwellian”. (Or Equilibrium – cool movie!) Anti-emotion, we can’t disagree emotionally against liberal sentiments without being extreme potential right-wing terrorists. This is setting a stage that I don’t like one bit.

As for Orwellian see what Senator Jay Rockefeller here in W.Va. is doing. A bill giving the President the right to control certain private engines of Internet traffic in the name of “cyber security” this bill may actually pass.

“We must protect our critical infrastructure at all costs—from our water to our electricity, to banking, traffic lights and electronic health records—the list goes on,” Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D-W.Va.), bill co-sponsor, said in a statement. “It’s an understatement to say that cyber-security is one of the most important issues we face; the increasingly connected nature of our lives only amplifies our vulnerability to cyber-attacks and we must act now.”

Thanks to Econlog for this tip.

We must act now to give the President vast control of peoples best ability at free expression ever created. Thanks Evil Jay!

UPDATE:

While Evil Jay Rockefeller romps about promoting dangerous potentially damaging to freedom of speech laws you may wonder what I’m so concerned about after can’t we trust the State…

WASHINGTON — The National Security Agency intercepted private e-mail messages and phone calls of Americans in recent months on a scale that went beyond the broad legal limits established by Congress last year, government officials said in recent interviews.

Several intelligence officials, as well as lawyers briefed about the matter, said the N.S.A. had been engaged in “overcollection” of domestic communications of Americans. They described the practice as significant and systemic, although one official said it was believed to have been unintentional.

So it’s not like the government would EVER ABUSE their powers.  We should just be ok with the passing of legislation that can destroy free speech online because the government is so good at wielding the powers they already have.  If you believe that you’ve got more then few marbles missing!
