Was President Obama’s Speech a Flop?
For the flattering account of Islam that Obama served up in Cairo — the celebration of imaginary Islamic achievements in science and culture, the evocation of a golden-age Andalusia where Christians and Jews were treated with respect and equality, and the [incorrect, incomplete, and out of context] references to the Koran that made it sound like the Sermon on the Mount — are of a piece with the fictions about Islam found regularly in the mainstream press.
via Pajamas Media » Media Takes Whitewashing of Islam to a Whole New Level.
In light of today’s Islamic terrorist attack on civilian targets which killed UN peace workers among the estimated 11 dead (I suspect that number will rise) what effect did Obama’s speech have. There were over a half dozen terrorist attacks on civilian targets which resulted in civilian deaths over the last couple days. Simple internet searches reveal the depth of Islam’s violence rate. Yet, I see no Islamic leadership outcry. No scriptural calls for the love of one’s enemies. I look for “Moderate Muslims” against Jihad but find nothing! The silence of the 900 million to 1.2 billion Muslims against violence against civilians is sad. The roar of the 600 million to 300 million Muslims ok with violence against civilians is mad. I’ve inserted how the following article (linked above) should have read.
UN chief Ban Ki-moon on Tuesday strongly condemned the ‘terrorist’ suicide attack which killed 11 people, including an employee of the UN refugee agency, in the Pakistani city of Peshawar.
[The terrorist carrying out Al-Jihad in Allah's Cause is of utmost importance in Islam. The success of the attack demonstrates that by Jihad Islam is established, Allah's Word is made superior, and Islam is propagated according to Surah Al-Baqarah chapter 2 verse 190.]
For all the media’s cry about “understanding” Islam and for Obama’s call for reconciliation the words and actions of Islam are speaking pretty loudly. And still we are not against Islam or Islamic Terrorists or Islamic Jihadists or terrorism we’re against violent “extremists”.
